A new altitude for new ideas.

From Japan to the Austrian Alps. The second Music & AI edition brought artists and developers to the Rudolfshütte, 2,315 metres above sea level. Laptops, instruments, and conversations filled the mountain venue as people explored musical ideas through AI, nature, movement, and play.

A different kind of fieldwork.

Skiing, data, and a small group of curious people in the Austrian Alps. Twenty-five participants joined the weekend, including hackathon organisers from Paris, Munich, Regensburg, Vorarlberg, Vienna, and Tirana. Time on the slopes became skiing data to explore, with workshops, shared organising experience, and presentations on Sunday.

After three editions in Tirana, Techfest brought its coding competition to Pristina for the first time. Developers took part in person and online from Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. Ten levels of coding challenges made room for different experience levels, with four hours to solve puzzles and work up the ranking.

Techfest returned to the Rogner Hotel with more than 100 participants from Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. Speed, skill, and a shared love of coding brought the community together again. For the two top performers, the next adventure would reach much further: a trip to Japan.

Taking the Alps into virtual worlds.

Seventeen people, an Alpine hut, and a challenge: turn a piece of Austria into something you can explore in a game. At the Trattnerhütte near Salzburg’s Schlenken, participants scanned objects, landscapes, and caves to build more than 40 digital assets. Starlink kept the laptops connected; the mountains supplied the inspiration.

A new device. Twelve hours. Five prototypes.

One new headset and twelve hours to find out what it could do. In Vienna’s fourth district, developers built five mini apps with SwiftUI, Flutter, and Unity: games, a drawing tool, and a news carousel that wrapped around the room. More than 25 people stopped by to try the device and see the results. Between the demos came plenty of discovery—and an honest conversation about the possibilities and limits of spatial computing.

The tourism chapter began with four parallel streams: customer-focused applications, data visualisation, virtual reality, and AI photography. Each had its own judging and prize pool. At the Rogner Hotel in Tirana and online across the region, developers tackled a four-hour coding competition. Junior and experienced coders could choose their own programming language and work through ten challenges. Together with ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA and ABA – WORK in AUSTRIA, the contest offered standout participants the chance to travel to Austria and meet its developer community.
